Discarded mill rolls

Steel slabs and billets are typically transformed into semi-finished end products (coils, wire, …) via rolling mill operations. A rolling mill performs mechanical operations on the steel products to shape them into the desired form and give them the required mechanical properties. The mill rolls suffer from wear and mechanical failure and when they cannot perform their required duties anymore, they are discarded.
