As a Senior Innovation Manager with expertise in metallurgical by-products, you are responsible for…

• Implementing the innovation strategy in line with the overall business strategy and goals;
• Identifying and evaluating new opportunities in the field of metallurgical by-product valorisation (integrated and electrical steelmaking, sinter production, DRI production,…);
• Translating research findings and theoretical ideas into realistic and pragmatic actions that meet the market demands and contribute to the profitability of ABO Global;
• Initiating and overseeing projects ensuring effective budgeting, planning, execution, and reporting;
• Building and maintaining strong collaborations with internal and external stakeholders to achieve business objectives and organizational growth;
• Guiding the commercial team and supporting the material research analyst(s) in the analytical and technical aspects of new and existing material streams;
• Keeping sector and product knowledge up-to-date (metallurgical by-products, binder technologies, recycling and related sectors) and transferring it to the team;
• Reporting to the Innovation Director. 

You are…

• In the possession of a relevant master’s degree in material science, metallurgy, chemistry or concrete technology;
• A professional with a minimum of 5 years of practical experience in a commercial environment within the metallurgical or recycling sector, demonstrating strong people skills and emotional intelligence;
• Eager of immersing yourself in new domains within the metallurgical or related sectors, surpassing your field of experience with passion and intelligence (e.g. non-ferrous, cement or concrete sector);
• Pragmatic, driven by results and enjoy the challenge of finding solutions for difficult material streams;
• Highly skilled in planning and organizing, approaching tasks in a structured way;
• Fluent in English, other languages are a big plus;
• Proactive and solution-oriented.
