Our small, dedicated transport team of four professionals (including the Head of Transport) manages around 1,200 monthly transport movements. We coordinate bulk waste transports by road, container and water, ensuring efficient, compliant and well-planned operations through a proactive, solution-driven approach.  

You are responsible for…

  • Leading the team & actively participating in daily transport operations, setting the example  
  • Ensuring the effective and efficient transport solutions for all commercial deals, combining strategic oversight with hands-on involvement  
  • Maintaining an expert level in transport waste legislation. You are and you stay on top-of-legal-things  
  • Managing transport costs and negotiating pricing for new and existing routes 
  • Ensuring that all transport activities comply with high quality standards, policies and procedures 
  • Driving operational excellence by optimizing and automating processes  
  • Collaborating closely with internal and external stakeholders, building strong relationships 
  • Supporting team development through coaching, training and mentoring, ensuring colleagues grow in their roles and perform at their best 
  • Sharing relevant business intelligence to the team(s) to improve team performance 
  • Reporting key metrics, performance insights and operational updates to the group finance and administration manager 

To excel in this role, you are…

  • Holder of a master’s degree (or equal through experience) 
  • Experienced (5Y) in an international transport environment 
  • Skilled in both road and water transport, expert in applicable waste legislation  
  • Experienced in leading a (small) team, bringing the best out in your people  
  • Action-oriented, result-driven and enjoying getting things done  
  • A dedicated caller by nature, the telephone is your primary means of communication 
  • Someone who takes ownership, thinks out-of-the-box, acts with a growth mindset 
  • A teamplayer, keeping a cool head while managing multiple priorities with excellent planning and organizational skills

  • Fluent in Dutch and/or English, with a good knowledge of French and German. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, skilled in using ERP systems
